If you love talking to people and live for nondestructive testing, you could be ASNT’s first “Face of NDT”!

We are looking for our first traveling spokesperson to help us represent NDT to the world. In this public-facing, dynamic role, you will travel to industry events and promote NDT and ASNT. You will demonstrate NDT methods, share your passion for the industry, promote ASNT, and encourage others to pursue a career in NDT.

You must be extremely comfortable speaking in front of both large and small audiences and prepared to interact with a diverse audience. In addition, ASNT will use your name and likeness in a print and digital marketing campaign.

The selected NDT professional will travel to as many as five events per year, including ASNT’s Annual Conference, to represent the NDT field and ASNT. This is a volunteer position, but ASNT will cover your travel expenses.

Qualifications

The right person to be the Face of NDT must

• possess NDT Level II or III certification in MT, PT, RT, UT, ET, or VT;
• have a dynamic personality and enjoy speaking to small groups;
• be able to travel in the United States—there is potential for international travel;
• be able to attend the opening day of ASNT 2021: The Annual Conference on 15 November in Phoenix, Arizona; and
• have permission from your employer to serve in this role.

Submission Requirements

Submit a statement of interest and summary of your NDT experience. Then record a video of up to 90 seconds that conveys your passion for the NDT industry. In the video, please answer the following questions. 

1. What is your name, current position, and employer?
2. What NDT and related certifications do you hold?
3. How did you begin working in NDT? How long have you been working in NDT?
4. Why are you passionate about NDT?
5. Why are you passionate about ASNT?
6. What would you say to encourage someone to start a career in NDT?
7. How you would explain an NDT method to both small and large groups, in a way that conveys your passion and enthusiasm?
8. Why should you be the Face of NDT?

Please submit your video by Monday, 1 November. Videos will be reviewed and the candidates selected will be asked to participate in online interviews on 4 November. The chosen NDT professional will be notified by Monday, 8 November. We will introduce you to the world at the ASNT 2021: The Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on 15 November 2021, so please free up your calendar!
