We are excited to announce a unique opportunity to contribute to a special issue of Materials Evaluation on Emerging Technologies in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) industry. The aim of this special issue is to explore and showcase the latest advancements, breakthroughs, and innovative approaches in NDT, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies that have the potential to revolutionize the field. Technologies should either be new to the market (within the last 12 months) or coming soon.
Nondestructive testing plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of various engineering structures, components, and materials. As industries continue to evolve and adapt to the demands of the modern world, it is essential for NDT to keep pace with emerging technologies. This special issue aims to present a comprehensive collection of technical papers, short articles and case studies, and/or reviews that delve into the application of novel techniques and methodologies in NDT.
Topics of interest for this special issue include, but are not limited to:
- artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in NDT
- robotics and automation in NDT inspections
- advanced sensor technologies
- augmented and virtual reality applications in NDT training and visualization
- integration of IoT and NDT for real-time monitoring
- advancements in radiographic, ultrasonic, eddy current, and other NDT techniques
- new approaches for evaluating composite materials and additive manufacturing
- wireless NDT inspection solutions for remote and hazardous environments
- NDT for infrastructure health monitoring and predictive maintenance
.
Submission Guidelines
Contributors interested in participating in this special issue are invited to submit original research articles, in-depth reviews, or short applications articles (1000–2000 words) related to these listed topics. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process and must be noncommercial in nature.
Please submit through our manuscript portal at https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/me. Be sure to mention in your cover letter that your submission is for the special issue on Emerging Technologies.
